个人简介
Mr. Lambrou, graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in comparative literature, has been writing for nearly twenty years on a variety of projects and collaborations in nearly all media, including radio, television, film and narrative fiction. He produced a series of educational videos for CETV, touring Shandong Province and providing lectures on classroom technique to rural teachers. His vocation as a writer very naturally spilled over into teaching, and he has since taught for a number of corporations, universities and individuals.

《美式口语生存手册》这本书由20个部分或情景组成,每个部分又包括两个场景或对话。本书与其他口语教材不同之处在于它的语言十分地道、很口语化,并且在加拿大和美国得到广泛使用。《美式口语生存手册》不仅听闻于街头巷尾、朋友之间,而且出现在影视作品里面。除了中国学生的英语课堂上见不到。它几乎是随处可见。
作为一种非母语,中国学生在学习英语时成天面对的是没完没了的语法、晦涩难懂的听力材料和一大堆的考试,到头来却什么也不会。(也就是说,他们不具备在英语环境里生活、工作以及和他人打咸一片的能力。作为在北京教口语的外教。八年来我们经常发现非母语英语课程的局限性,无论是在公开场合还是在私人交往中。考试成绩好并不表明交流能力强。更糟糕的是,经过许多年的死记硬背和应付考试,学生对外国文化和逻辑思维知之甚少,而外国文化与逻辑思维恰恰又与语言密不可分,因为它们共同构成了语言学习的基础。
